The National Weather Service in Jackson, Kentucky, warns that the rainfall will bring much-needed relief from recent abnormally hot and dry conditions, but it also poses flooding risks in urban areas.
According to the National Weather Service, the region will experience repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms within a short period, leading to potential flooding concerns. While the storms will alleviate the heat, with temperatures expected to drop from 95°F today to 85°F on Wednesday, residents should remain vigilant for flash flooding, especially in areas prone to water accumulation.
The weather outlook for the rest of the week shows continued chances of rain. On Thursday, there’s a 40% chance of showers with a high of 81°F. Friday will be partly cloudy with temperatures reaching 82°F. The weekend will see more rain, with a 40% chance on both Saturday and Sunday and highs around 83°F.
