Eastern Kentucky to Experience Highs in the 90s and Thunderstorms

Jackson, KY – Eastern Kentucky will see the return of heat and humidity early this week, with daily highs reaching the lower 90s. The US National Weather Service in Jackson, Kentucky, has issued a weather outlook indicating that a few showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and early evening, primarily closer to the Virginia border.

According to the National Weather Service, rain chances will increase across all of eastern Kentucky on Tuesday and Wednesday due to an approaching cold front and the remnants of Hurricane Beryl passing by to the northwest. Tuesday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy with a 20-50% chance of showers and thunderstorms, with highs between 90-95 degrees and lows from 69-74 degrees.

Wednesday will see partly to mostly cloudy skies, with showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms. Temperatures will be slightly cooler, ranging from 84-91 degrees during the day and 66-72 degrees at night. The heat and humidity will persist, though not as intense as earlier in the week.

By Thursday, eastern Kentucky will experience partly cloudy conditions with a 20-30% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cooler and less humid weather is expected, with daytime highs between 81-86 degrees and nighttime lows from 64-69 degrees.

Friday’s forecast predicts partly cloudy skies with a 20-30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, and temperatures ranging from 85-89 degrees during the day and 62-65 degrees at night. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against the heat while remaining vigilant for potential thunderstorms throughout the week.
