Jackson, KY – Starting today, a ridge of high pressure is set to dominate the weather across Eastern Kentucky, extending into the middle of next week. This pattern will bring significantly warmer-than-average temperatures, with highs in the upper 80s to mid-90s. The high pressure will suppress any chance of rain until midweek, leading to hot and dry conditions.

Monday’s Forecast
On Monday, the region will see the most intense heat, with temperatures climbing to between 88 and 94 degrees. Skies will remain sunny and clear, offering little respite from the heat. Nighttime temperatures will drop slightly, but will still remain warm, ranging from 63 to 68 degrees.

Looking Ahead
The high-pressure system will maintain its grip over the region through Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect mostly clear skies on Tuesday, with highs reaching 90 to 95 degrees. By Wednesday, cloud cover will increase slightly, and there’s a 20% chance of rain late in the day as a surface front and weak disturbances begin to move through the area.

Weekend Conditions
This weekend, expect sunny and very warm conditions with highs ranging from 81 to 88 degrees today and climbing to between 86 and 91 degrees by Sunday. Nights will be clear, with some patchy valley fog developing late.

With the forecast indicating no significant relief from the heat until the middle of next week, residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours.
