Quad Cities, IA/IL – Cold and brisk weather will continue across the Quad Cities region through the rest of today, but a noticeable warming trend is expected to develop after tonight and carry into the upcoming week.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities, temperatures tonight are forecast to drop into the mid-teens to upper 20s under mostly cloudy skies. The chill will persist into early Saturday, though conditions begin to moderate during the day.

Saturday will feature a mix of sun and clouds with highs ranging from the mid-30s to mid-40s across eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois, including Davenport, Bettendorf, Rock Island, Moline, and surrounding communities. Temperatures dip again Saturday night, with lows falling into the upper single digits to near 20 degrees.

Sunday brings another cool day, with highs expected in the mid-20s to upper 30s, followed by slightly milder overnight lows in the upper teens to mid-20s. Despite the chill, dry conditions are expected through the weekend, limiting travel impacts.

The warming trend becomes more noticeable on Monday, when highs climb into the upper 30s to upper 40s, signaling a shift away from the recent cold pattern. Overnight temperatures will also trend milder, with lows staying near or above freezing in some areas.

Forecasters note that moderating temperatures are expected to persist into the week ahead, offering a more comfortable pattern for late December. Residents are advised to dress for cold conditions today and tonight, then prepare for fluctuating temperatures through the weekend.
