Davenport, IA – Residents of eastern Iowa can anticipate a refreshing weekend as unseasonably cool temperatures and sunny skies are forecasted through Sunday. Friday’s daytime highs will range between 70 and 75 degrees under clear skies, offering a perfect start to the weekend. Overnight temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with lows between 48 and 53 degrees, nearing record low levels for early August.

Saturday will continue the trend of mild weather, with plenty of sunshine and daytime highs between 72 and 77 degrees. Saturday night will again be cool, with temperatures falling to between 49 and 56 degrees, making for crisp, refreshing evenings.

Sunday promises slightly warmer conditions, with highs reaching between 74 and 79 degrees. However, the cool trend will persist overnight, as temperatures drop to between 55 and 60 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, the cooler weather is due to an upper-level trough influencing the area, keeping conditions pleasant and dry. Looking ahead to next week, temperatures will gradually warm up, with highs expected to reach the low to mid-80s by midweek. The next chance of rain is forecast for late next week, potentially bringing showers by Thursday or Friday.
