Davenport, Iowa – Patchy smoke is blanketing parts of eastern Iowa this morning, with reduced air quality and hazy skies expected to linger through the weekend across the Quad Cities region. Temperatures will climb steadily, pushing into the mid-80s by early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, areas of smoke will remain in place through Saturday night, particularly around Davenport, Bettendorf, and across the river into Rock Island and Moline. Visibility may drop below 6 miles in some spots, especially during early morning and overnight hours.

Sunday will bring clearer skies and sunshine, but smoke may still impact sensitive groups, including children, seniors, and those with respiratory issues. Officials recommend limiting outdoor activity, using air purifiers indoors, and avoiding prolonged exposure, especially during peak daylight hours.

By Monday, heat will become the primary concern, with highs reaching 83°F by Tuesday and humidity making conditions feel warmer. No rain is expected through Wednesday, increasing dryness across the region.

Air quality may fluctuate as winds shift; stay alert for additional advisories through midweek.
