According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Quad Cities office, Monday kicks off with hot and humid conditions, reaching temperatures between 89-96°F. Severe weather is expected in the afternoon and evening, particularly north and south of the region, with a 70% chance of severe storms in the north and 40% in the south.
The NWS forecasts that these conditions will improve significantly by Tuesday. Cooler air will move in from the north, bringing daytime highs down to 80-86°F. A slight chance of rain persists, especially south of Interstate 80, with a 30% likelihood of precipitation. Nighttime temperatures will drop to a more comfortable 60-65°F.
Wednesday and Thursday promise much quieter weather, with highs ranging from 75-80°F and overnight lows between 54-60°F. The heat and humidity will subside, providing a much-needed reprieve from the early week’s extreme weather.
