Shreveport, LA – Residents across North Louisiana, Southwest Arkansas, and East Texas will face another hot afternoon Thursday, with the possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Shreveport.

Forecasters say temperatures will once again climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s, with cities such as Shreveport, Monroe, and Texarkana expected to reach near 90 degrees. The NWS notes that humidity levels may make conditions feel even warmer for those outdoors.

According to the NWS forecast, storm chances remain relatively low but possible throughout the afternoon. Areas including Natchitoches, Jonesboro, and El Dorado carry rain probabilities between 10% and 20%. Any storms that do form could bring brief downpours and lightning, though widespread severe weather is not anticipated.

The region’s prolonged stretch of hot weather has been a concern for residents and outdoor workers. Officials recommend staying hydrated, limiting strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and monitoring local forecasts for updates on developing storms.

This unsettled weather pattern is expected to continue into the weekend, with more rounds of heat and scattered thunderstorm chances likely across the Ark-La-Tex region.
