Shreveport, LA – Thunderstorms are expected to increase across the Ark-La-Tex region Friday evening, bringing gusty winds and small hail that could impact travel and outdoor plans through the overnight hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, a marginal risk for severe storms remains in place through Friday and into Saturday as a cold front approaches the region. The primary threats include wind gusts strong enough to down small branches and produce brief power disruptions, along with pockets of small hail.

Storms are expected to develop along and ahead of the front Friday evening, then continue overnight as they move east across northern Louisiana and east Texas. Cities including Shreveport, Bossier City, and Texarkana may see multiple rounds of rain and storms through early Saturday.

While the severe threat remains limited, isolated stronger storms cannot be ruled out, especially during peak evening hours.

Residents should stay weather-aware, secure loose outdoor items, and monitor alerts for any stronger storms. Storm chances will continue into Saturday as the cold front clears the region, with additional updates possible if conditions intensify.
