Knoxville, TN – A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for northeast and central Tennessee from 10 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday, with wind chills dropping as low as 2°F in some areas.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Morristown warns that Greeneville, Johnson City, and Kingsport will see dangerously cold conditions overnight, especially in higher elevations.
Residents should bundle up, limit outdoor exposure, and ensure that pets and livestock have adequate shelter. Officials also caution against using unsafe heating methods, such as indoor generators or charcoal grills.
Temperatures are expected to rise slightly by Friday afternoon, but another round of cold air may arrive next week.
