Morristown, TN – Flurries and light snowfall are possible late tonight in the higher elevations of East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The National Weather Service in Morristown issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook early Thursday morning, cautioning that snowfall will be minimal due to very dry air in the region.

According to the weather service, the dry frontal system moving across the area is unlikely to bring significant precipitation. Any snow that does occur will primarily impact elevated areas in Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and portions of North Carolina.

No major hazards are expected through the remainder of the week. The forecast predicts low probabilities for widespread hazardous weather from Friday through Wednesday.

Residents in affected areas should remain prepared for colder temperatures, especially at higher elevations. Though accumulation is unlikely, motorists should remain cautious of slick conditions on mountain roads overnight.

Spotter activation is not required at this time. Updates will be provided if conditions change. For localized details, visit the National Weather Service website or monitor local weather alerts.
