East Los Angeles, California – Drivers and early risers in East L.A. could face dense patchy fog through 11 a.m. Monday, complicating Memorial Day morning travel. Temperatures will rebound to the mid-70s by afternoon, with sun breaking through and summer-like highs reaching 74°F.
According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, patchy fog will blanket much of Los Angeles County each morning through at least Thursday. The fog may reduce visibility along major routes like I-710 and I-10 before midday. Caltrans urges drivers to slow down, use headlights, and allow extra time on fog-prone stretches.
Memorial Day (Monday) starts cloudy with fog but becomes sunny by late morning. Highs around 74°F will offer pleasant outdoor conditions for afternoon BBQs and gatherings.
Tuesday through Thursday, expect similar trends: fog through 11 a.m. followed by sunshine and warming temperatures. Highs climb into the upper 70s by midweek, with Tuesday and Wednesday topping out near 77°F and Thursday slightly warmer at 78°F. Overnight lows remain mild in the upper 50s to near 60°F.
Visibility issues will be most problematic during morning commutes, especially along coastal valleys. If you’re traveling before 10 a.m., stay alert and drive cautiously.
