Jackson, KY – Damp and stormy weather is set to impact much of eastern Kentucky through the workweek, with the most significant rainfall and thunderstorms expected Wednesday and Wednesday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, partly to mostly cloudy skies will persist, with scattered showers developing as early as Tuesday. Forecasters say the strongest storms are expected Wednesday, when rain chances reach 60–100% across the region. Heavy rainfall and gusty winds are possible during this period, which could create hazardous travel conditions.

Thursday is expected to remain unsettled, with a 60–90% chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. While temperatures will stay relatively mild with highs in the upper 70s, storms could continue to bring periods of heavy rain and localized flooding.

By Friday, conditions should begin to improve, though forecasters note a 20–50% chance of lingering showers remains. Highs will range from 74 to 79 degrees, with cooler overnight lows dropping into the 50s.

The National Weather Service urges residents to stay alert for updated forecasts and possible advisories if storm activity intensifies. Travelers should plan for reduced visibility and slick roads, especially during evening commutes Wednesday and Thursday.
