Melbourne, FL – A coastal flood advisory and rip current warnings remain in effect for Florida’s east coast today, posing risks for beachgoers and boaters. Hazardous conditions are expected due to high tides and strong northeast winds, with forecasters urging residents to avoid entering the surf.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory extends through 1 p.m. Sunday, impacting areas near Volusia and Brevard counties. Winds of 5-10 mph will combine with waves reaching up to six feet along the Treasure Coast. These conditions may cause minor coastal flooding during high tide cycles.

Temperatures today will climb into the upper 70s, with mostly sunny skies across the region. Tonight, expect partly cloudy conditions and a low near 66 degrees as winds calm.

Looking ahead, Monday brings a similar forecast with a high near 79 and light winds. By Tuesday, temperatures rise to 83 degrees under mostly sunny skies. However, slight chances of showers return Tuesday night, followed by a 60% chance of rain and possible thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Beachgoers should heed warnings posted by lifeguards, and small craft operators are encouraged to exercise caution when navigating coastal waters.

For inland residents, this week offers a mix of sunshine and rain chances, with breezy conditions through midweek. By Thursday, cooler temperatures return as highs drop into the lower 70s.
