Orlando, Florida – June 2025 closed on a hot and dry note for East Central Florida, with multiple cities ending the month more than three inches below normal rainfall and temperatures ranking among the warmest on record.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, most of the region experienced drier-than-average conditions despite daily storms. Orlando, Sanford, and Melbourne saw rainfall deficits of over 3.3 inches, while Melbourne logged its 9th warmest June since records began in 1937. Sanford also ranked 8th warmest, averaging 82.9°F—1.0° above normal.

Rainfall was especially scarce along the eastern corridor, with Daytona Beach ending June 2.78 inches below normal and Fort Pierce 3.03 inches below. Inland areas fared slightly better, with Leesburg bucking the trend at nearly 1 inch above normal rainfall.

The lack of consistent rain raises short-term drought concerns heading into July, especially with high temperatures persisting. Residents should limit outdoor water use, monitor local burn restrictions, and prepare for continued heat stress.

Hot and dry conditions may persist into early July. Additional updates will follow if drought advisories are issued.
