Melbourne, FL – Residents and visitors in East Central Florida can expect a dry and mostly sunny day today. With temperatures peaking in the low 90s across the region, it’s shaping up to be a warm and pleasant Saturday. However, those heading to the coast should be cautious as the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a high-risk warning for rip currents at all East Central Florida beaches.
According to the NWS Melbourne, the calm weather conditions inland are contrasted by hazardous surf along the coast. Beachgoers are strongly discouraged from entering the water due to the dangerous rip currents. These conditions, combined with rough surf, pose significant risks, especially for inexperienced swimmers.
Small craft operators are also advised to exercise caution. The presence of long-period swells could create poor boating conditions, particularly near inlets during outgoing tides. Mariners should remain vigilant while navigating offshore waters.
Looking ahead, the weather remains relatively stable with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s expected throughout the weekend. Sunday will bring similar conditions with highs around 90°F. By Monday, temperatures are forecasted to climb further, reaching up to 94°F, offering another hot day. The chance of rain increases slightly by Tuesday, with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, continuing into the middle of the week.
