Indianapolis, IN – A late-night burglary on North College Avenue ended in an arrest early Monday after quick action by Indianapolis police. Officers responded to a business alarm at around 3 a.m. and spotted a man walking away from the scene, carrying what appeared to be a cash drawer.
When officers attempted to detain the suspect, he fled on foot. They quickly set up a perimeter and called in support from drone and K-9 units. The suspect was located hiding in the backyard of a nearby home, and officers took him into custody without incident.
The box the suspect carried was confirmed to be the business’s cash drawer. After further investigation, detectives arrested the man on charges of burglary and resisting law enforcement. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine the final charges. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
