Poughkeepsie, NY – The Dutchess County Drug Task Force has started 2026 with a string of arrests and search warrants targeting alleged narcotics activity throughout the county, according to District Attorney Anthony P. Parisi.

According to the DA’s Office, agents arrested multiple individuals in January following separate investigations across Poughkeepsie, East Fishkill, and Beacon. The coordinated operations involved members of the Drug Task Force, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, and specialized SWAT units.

Authorities said Rashard Haile, 25, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Jan. 12 after an investigation into drug sales in the city. Haile faces several charges, including Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, and remains in custody at the Dutchess County Jail.

On Jan. 14, agents arrested Michael Velez, 38, and Stephanie Velez, 34, also of Poughkeepsie. Investigators reportedly recovered narcotics, a firearm, and cash following search warrants at multiple locations. Both face felony drug charges.

Later in the month, Tyrone Hickson, 43, was charged after a separate search yielded narcotics and a weapon, officials said. On Jan. 29, Carl McLean, 30, and Nykiem McLean, 29, were arrested in another coordinated effort that included the Dutchess County SWAT team. Both were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.

The Drug Task Force is composed of investigators from multiple local and federal agencies, including the DEA and area police departments. Officials encouraged residents with drug-related information to contact the task force at 845-463-6040 or by email.
