Durham County, NC – Drivers in northern Durham County are being urged to find alternate routes this morning after a log truck overturned overnight on Bahama Road near Tilley Farm and Isham Chambers Road, according to the Durham County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the crash left the truck overturned across the roadway, spilling logs and debris across both lanes. Emergency crews and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) responded to the scene and are investigating the cause of the incident.
Officials reported that cleanup is expected to take several hours, and the road will remain closed until the area is cleared and deemed safe for travel. There have been no reports of serious injuries at this time.
Residents and commuters traveling through the Bahama and Rougemont areas should expect delays and detours this morning as crews work to remove the logs and damaged vehicle.
