DuPage County Sheriff’s Office Warns of Increasing Scam Calls

DuPage County, IL – DuPage County officials have issued an urgent warning to residents about a surge in phone scam attempts. The scammers are allegedly posing as current and former Deputy Sheriffs, claiming there is an arrest warrant against the recipient and demanding gift cards to clear it up.

According to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, these fraudulent calls have become more frequent and consistent. They stress that the office will never ask for money over the phone. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and protect themselves from potential fraud.

If you receive a suspicious call, do not provide any personal information or payment. Instead, immediately contact your local police department.
