Wheaton, IL – A Cook County man is being held in DuPage County after allegedly leading police on two high-speed chases late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.

According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, 21-year-old Armoni Flowers of Berwyn is charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding, along with multiple traffic violations. Authorities said Flowers was driving a black Toyota Highlander when he allegedly fled from both Aurora and Oak Brook officers during separate incidents.

The first chase began around 1:12 a.m. Thursday after Aurora police attempted a traffic stop near Vaughn Road and Adams Way. Police allege Flowers initially pulled over before accelerating away, reaching about 80 mph in a 40 mph zone on Eola Road before merging onto I-88.

Roughly 15 minutes later, Oak Brook police spotted the same vehicle near I-88 and Route 83. Officials said Flowers again fled, allegedly accelerating to nearly 100 mph on I-88 before exiting onto I-294. After officers deployed stop sticks, the SUV eventually crashed near I-290 and 25th Street in Bellwood. Flowers allegedly ran on foot but was caught shortly after.

No officers or civilians were injured during the incidents, according to prosecutors. Flowers is being held ahead of his next court date on October 20, 2025, in front of Judge Joseph Bugos.

Officials reminded the public that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
