Winfield, Ill. — The Union Pacific Railroad plans to make repairs to the Winfield Road crossing. The crossing is between the intersections of Jewell Road and Chicago Avenue.
The repairs are set to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11. Work is expected to be completed by Monday, July 14, at 5:00 p.m. Motorists going northbound can take a posted detour east on Manchester Road to County Farm Road. Southbound drivers can take High Lake Road east to County Farm Road.
The Village of Winfield reminded drivers to expect delays and allow extra time to follow posted detours. Drivers must follow speed limits and be alert for workers and equipment near the Winfield Road railroad crossing.
