Villa Park, IL – A DuPage County judge has granted the state’s motion to detain an 18-year-old Villa Park man accused of leading police on a 113 mph chase before allegedly punching an officer in the face early Sunday morning.
According to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin, the suspect, identified as Aizik Davila, allegedly fled from Cicero police earlier that night before being spotted by Villa Park officers around 3:49 a.m. on November 2, 2025. When officers tried to pull him over on St. Charles Road, Davila allegedly accelerated, reaching speeds more than three times the posted limit.
Police say officers deployed stop sticks near Westmore Avenue, disabling the Hyundai Palisade. Davila and three passengers reportedly ran from the scene. As one officer chased Davila through a residential area, he allegedly ignored commands to stop and struck the officer twice in the face while attempting to climb a fence. Davila was taken into custody a short time later.
“The allegations are outrageous and will be met with the full force of the law,” Berlin said, adding that the officer was not seriously injured. Villa Park Police Chief Todd Kubish praised his department’s quick response, calling the act of striking an officer “unacceptable” and “not tolerated in Villa Park.”
Davila faces charges of Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer (Class 2 felony), Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding (Class 4 felony), and Resisting a Police Officer (misdemeanor). His next court appearance is scheduled for December 1, 2025, before Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh.
Members of the public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
