Wheaton, IL – Motorists in Wheaton should plan for delays today as pavement marking work takes place along President Street, city officials announced Friday.

According to the City of Wheaton Government, contractors will be working throughout the day on Friday, Sept. 19, between Geneva Road and Blanchard Street. The project involves a moving work zone, which may cause traffic backups at various points along the route. While the work is scheduled for Friday, officials noted it could extend into next week depending on progress and conditions.

For safety, drivers are urged to slow down, follow posted signs, and comply with flagger instructions when traveling near the project area. The city advised motorists to anticipate possible delays and consider alternate routes to avoid congestion.

“This work is an important part of maintaining safe and efficient roadways for our community,” officials said in the announcement, thanking residents for their patience during the improvement project.

The city encourages drivers to use caution around the work zone and plan extra travel time when moving through the affected area.
