Villa Park, IL – A Cook County man accused of leading officers on a high-speed chase through several DuPage County suburbs will remain in custody after a judge denied his pre-trial release Thursday morning.
According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, 44-year-old Jeremy Miller of Bellwood appeared before Judge Joshua Dieden, who granted prosecutors’ motion to detain him. Miller faces two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding and one count of driving with a suspended license—his fourth to ninth offense.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 8:57 p.m. on October 8, 2025, when a Villa Park officer allegedly spotted a 2005 Toyota Camry with suspended plates near St. Charles and Addison Roads. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, Miller allegedly sped away, reaching speeds of up to 86 mph and running multiple stop signs and red lights as he drove through Villa Park, Elmhurst, and onto Interstate 290.
Police say the chase ended after officers deployed spike strips, forcing the vehicle to stop near Mannheim Road. Miller allegedly fled on foot but was caught shortly after.
“This defendant allegedly showed complete disregard for public safety,” said State’s Attorney Robert Berlin, praising local police for their coordination with multiple departments.
Miller’s next court appearance is scheduled for November 3, 2025, before Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh.
