DuPage County, IL — Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County Bring Back “Duck Race” August 9

DuPage County, Illinois — The Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage will be bringing back the signature “Duck Race” on August 9. The race will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve in Oak Brook.

The finish line for the race ends at the newly restored Salt Creek near the Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center. The race will raise money towards the protection of native plants and animals and habitat restoration in DuPage County forest preserves.

Anyone can sponsor a duck in the race for $25 or five for $100. There will be 250 ducks available. The winner will take home $500, second place receives a symbolic Blanding’s Turtle Adoption at $100 value, and third place will get some Forest Preserve District of DuPage swag worth $25. Sales for the duck race end August 8 at 3:00 p.m. Results will be posted to the Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County Facebook page. Participants do not need to be present at the race to win.
