Wheaton, Illinois – A DuPage County judge denied pretrial release for a convicted felon accused of possessing a machine gun and nearly 775 grams of cocaine.
According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, Judge Joshua Dieden granted prosecutors’ motion last week to hold Dionte Neustadter, 46, of the 500 block of Grosvenor Lane in Aurora, pending trial.
Prosecutors allege Neustadter was found in possession of multiple firearms — including a pistol modified with an automatic switch — along with approximately 775 grams of cocaine. He is charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance between 400 and 900 grams, aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a machine gun, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and misdemeanor fleeing and eluding a police officer.
According to Naperville police, officers began investigating in early January after receiving information about a possibly stolen 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor with Tennessee plates. On Jan. 15, officers located the vehicle at a gas station on North Aurora Road. Authorities allege the driver fled after a traffic stop was initiated near Raymond Drive.
Police took Neustadter into custody Feb. 24 in the 1100 block of East Ogden Avenue. Prosecutors allege officers found approximately 21 grams of cocaine during the arrest. Following a search warrant at his residence, authorities allege they recovered eight firearms, more than $47,000 in cash, and approximately 753 grams of cocaine.
Neustadter’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 23 before Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh.
The case may draw attention from commuters and residents concerned about gun violence and drug trafficking in DuPage County.
