Lisle, IL – Residents cleaning up after the holidays will have two chances to dispose of live Christmas trees at no cost, as the Village of Lisle announces its annual post-holiday tree collection schedule.

According to the Village of Lisle Government, live Christmas trees will be collected on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The service is free and coordinated through Lisle Recycling Services (LRS).

Officials say residents should place trees at the curb next to their regular garbage and recycling bins on either of the scheduled collection dates. Trees must be free of all ornaments, tinsel, lights, tree stands, and other decorations to be accepted.

Village officials also emphasized that there is no change to regular garbage or recycling service days during this period. Residents should follow their normal weekly schedule and simply add the tree to the curb on one of the designated Wednesdays.

The program applies only to live Christmas trees. Artificial trees or trees placed in bags may not be collected as part of this service and should be disposed of through standard bulk waste options.

Lisle is located in DuPage County, west of Naperville and part of the Chicago metropolitan area, where many communities offer limited-time seasonal collection programs following the holidays.

Residents with questions about collection guidelines or service eligibility are encouraged to contact the Village of Lisle or LRS directly.
