DuPage County, IL – A DeKalb County man on electronic monitoring was ordered held without bond after allegedly fleeing police in Willowbrook and being found with a stolen truck, two firearms, and narcotics, according to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Officials said Michael Addison, 39, of DeKalb, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a repeat felon, unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
According to prosecutors, police in Willowbrook responded around 2:45 p.m. on January 14, 2026, to a report of a black Ford Maverick pickup stolen from a gas station. Officers allegedly saw Addison running from the truck after hitting a parked car, before he fled onto Route 83 and the I-88 interchange. He was taken into custody following a brief pursuit, officials said.
Authorities said Addison had multiple active warrants, including one from McHenry County, and was already on electronic monitoring for a separate pending burglary case. During the search, officers reportedly recovered stolen goods, pharmaceuticals, and two firearms.
“This incident is yet another example of a heavily armed, habitual felon fleeing from police into a stolen vehicle,” said DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin. “The cooperative work of Willowbrook, Oak Brook, and Crest Hill police helped bring this dangerous situation to a safe end.”
Addison remains held without bond. His next court date is scheduled for February 2, 2026, before Judge Mia McPherson.
