DULUTH, Minn. – Showers moved across parts of central Minnesota and the St. Croix Valley early Friday, but most of the state heads into a sunny, warm holiday weekend with highs climbing into the 70s and low 80s.
According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, skies will remain mostly sunny and dry through Monday, keeping conditions favorable for outdoor plans across northern and central Minnesota. Overnight lows dip into the 40s and 50s, offering cooler evenings at campgrounds and lakesides.
By late Tuesday, a cold front will bring widespread showers and a chance for storms, especially from Duluth south toward the Twin Cities and across the Iron Range. Highs will reach the upper 60s to mid-70s before falling sharply into the 50s and low 60s on Wednesday.
Drivers should prepare for wet roads and reduced visibility Tuesday night into Wednesday. Campers and boaters are urged to secure gear ahead of the midweek shift, as winds may pick up with the front.
Temperatures are expected to hold steady in the 50s and 60s through midweek, and additional advisories could be issued if storms strengthen.
