Duluth, MN – Residents across northern Minnesota can expect a damp weekend as a slow-moving low-pressure system continues to bring periodic rain showers through Sunday. According to the National Weather Service Duluth, rainfall will come in waves, with the highest chances occurring in the afternoon and evening hours.

Forecasters noted that while a few isolated thunderstorms are possible, severe weather is not anticipated. Temperatures are expected to remain seasonable, with highs in the 60s to low 70s across the region.

The National Weather Service reported Saturday morning that most of the Northland will experience a 40 to 60 percent chance of precipitation through Sunday night. Conditions are forecast to improve by Monday, when rain chances steadily decrease. From Tuesday through Friday, precipitation probabilities fall to zero, opening the door for several days of sunshine.

Meteorologists emphasized that the unsettled pattern is typical for this time of year as the region transitions into fall. “After Monday, we should start to see more sun and slightly warmer-than-average temperatures,” the agency said.

Residents planning outdoor activities this weekend should be prepared for brief showers and damp conditions but can look forward to drier and brighter weather starting next week.
