Waves could sweep even strong swimmers away from shore. Meanwhile, 1 to 3 inches of rainfall may soak Highway 2 and surrounding areas, raising concerns for localized flooding.
Heavy showers are expected mainly before 6 p.m. Friday, with gusty northeast winds up to 20 mph. Temperatures will remain in the low 50s, adding to the raw conditions across northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
