Duluth, Minnesota – Isolated thunderstorms are pushing through east-central Minnesota into early Monday morning, bringing gusty winds and bursts of heavy rain as a cold front sweeps into the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, showers and storms are tracking east of Interstate 35 and will move into northwest Wisconsin overnight. While widespread severe weather and flooding are not expected, some storms could still generate strong wind gusts and brief downpours through sunrise.
Residents in Moose Lake, Hinckley, and areas near Sandstone and Pine City should be alert for reduced visibility and slick road conditions during the early morning commute. While the worst weather has passed, localized impacts could persist through dawn as showers drift toward Ashland and Bayfield counties in Wisconsin.
Travelers should avoid flooded low spots and use caution on wet roads, especially on Highway 23 and U.S. Route 2. With conditions calming later Monday, no additional warnings are currently planned—but residents should monitor local alerts in case conditions change.
Scattered storms may linger into early morning hours, with clearing skies expected by midday.
