DULUTH, Minn. – Residents across northern Minnesota will enjoy a stretch of clear skies and mild temperatures this weekend, with sunshine holding through Monday before a chance of rain develops midweek. Afternoon highs will climb into the low 70s, providing ideal conditions for outdoor plans around the Duluth area.
According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, today will remain sunny with a high near 62 and east winds gusting up to 15 mph. By Saturday and Sunday, highs will reach the low 70s with calm winds, keeping conditions pleasant for travel and local events. Nights will be cooler, dipping into the upper 40s to low 50s, but mostly clear skies will limit concerns for fog or visibility issues.
Lake Superior beaches remain under a hazard statement until this evening, with stronger northeast winds creating dangerous swimming conditions. The NWS continues to advise against entering the water until conditions improve.
By Tuesday, breezier conditions will return, with winds from the east at 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph. A chance of showers is expected late Tuesday night into Wednesday, which could dampen commutes and slow travel across the Twin Ports region.
More updates may be issued if the midweek rain develops into widespread showers.
