Duluth, Minn. – Northern Minnesota will see highs in the 70s today, with a few isolated afternoon storms possible across the northern tier, including areas near International Falls, Grand Rapids, and Grand Marais.
According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, Wednesday will bring mostly sunny skies with light northwest winds, keeping conditions calm before a more active stretch arrives. Storm chances increase Thursday afternoon, with isolated thunderstorms potentially turning strong to severe. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall will be the main hazards, especially across central and northern counties.
Friday’s storm potential expands, with scattered thunderstorms likely and another risk for severe weather. Winds could gust up to 20 mph from the southwest, and locally heavy rain may create brief flooding concerns in low-lying areas. Outdoor events and travel late this week could face interruptions, and residents are urged to monitor updated alerts.
The unsettled weather is expected to ease by the weekend, though lingering showers are possible. Additional advisories may be issued as storm timing becomes clearer.
