DULUTH, Minn. – Northern Minnesota will see one more stretch of unsettled weather before a drier, cooler pattern takes over heading into next week. Light to moderate rain is expected from Thursday into early Friday, followed by clearing skies and a return to near-normal fall temperatures.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, a weak system moving through the Upper Midwest will bring a 50–80% chance of rain beginning Thursday morning and lasting into Friday afternoon. Rainfall amounts should remain light—generally between 0.10 and 0.50 inches—with a few heavier pockets possible along the North Shore.

Temperatures will briefly rise into the upper 50s to near 60°F Friday before a cooler air mass slides in for the weekend. Highs Saturday through Tuesday will hover in the upper 40s to lower 50s, with overnight lows dipping into the 30s. Dry conditions are expected to dominate much of next week, providing several crisp, sunny fall days across northeastern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

Commuters should watch for slick roads early Friday, especially in higher terrain areas, before improving travel conditions into the weekend. Residents are encouraged to prepare for the cooler mornings ahead and enjoy the bright, seasonable weather returning by Sunday.
