Duluth, Minn. – The National Weather Service is asking residents across northwest Wisconsin and the Lake Superior South Shore to report any storm damage after severe thunderstorms swept through the region Saturday.

According to the NWS Duluth office, large hail up to 1 inch in diameter and damaging winds were the primary threats, particularly in Ashland, Bayfield, and Iron counties. Officials say reports from the public help confirm storm impacts and guide future warnings.

Communities including Ashland, Washburn, Bayfield, and Iron River were under the strongest storm cells, with power outages and tree damage possible along rural roads and highways near the shoreline. The agency is urging residents to note the time, location, and type of damage, including fallen trees, downed power lines, or broken windows. Photos are also welcomed.

Reports can be shared by calling the Duluth office at (218) 729-6697, emailing nws.duluth@noaa.gov, or sending a message through their social media channels.

Additional storms remain possible later this week, and the weather service says more advisories could be issued depending on conditions.
