Duluth, MN – Northern Minnesota residents should brace for a windy, rainy end to the weekend as a strong cold front moves through the region tonight into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth.
Rain is forecast to spread across the Northland Saturday night and continue into Sunday, with gusty south winds preceding the cold front. The strongest gusts—between 25 and 35 mph—are expected Sunday and will shift to the northwest by Monday as colder air settles in.
According to NWS Duluth, rain chances will peak at 70–90% in many areas Sunday before tapering off early Monday. High temperatures will reach the mid-50s to near 60°F on Sunday before falling into the 40s by Monday, marking a noticeable cooldown for the start of the week.
By Tuesday, skies should begin to clear, but temperatures will remain below normal, with morning lows dipping into the 30s and highs in the low 50s. The next chance for milder weather may not arrive until midweek.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and prepare for reduced visibility during periods of heavier rain and gusty winds.
