Duluth, MN – Breezy conditions will continue across much of northern Minnesota through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth. Forecasters say wind gusts could reach up to 25 miles per hour before light rain moves into the region Tuesday afternoon.

According to the NWS update early Sunday morning, October 26, the Brainerd Lakes area is expected to see the highest rainfall totals from the midweek system. Most other areas, including Duluth, Grand Rapids, and International Falls, are expected to receive light rainfall amounts generally below a quarter inch.

The system follows a stretch of mild but breezy weather, with sustained winds and dry air dominating the weekend. “Breezy before a little rain makes its way in on Tuesday,” the NWS Duluth office noted, emphasizing that the Brainerd Lakes region will see the best rain chances.

After Tuesday’s light showers, forecasters say confidence decreases in the outlook heading into midweek. A weak atmospheric setup is expected to linger, but limited moisture means significant additional rainfall is unlikely through Wednesday.

Daytime highs will remain seasonable for late October, with cooler air gradually filtering in behind the front. Drivers should be aware of reduced visibility at times during brief rain showers Tuesday, especially across central Minnesota.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts for updates, as shifting wind patterns could affect rain coverage across the region.
