Duluth, MN – A stretch of off-and-on light rain showers is expected across northern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin from Monday through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth.

Forecasters say the system will bring a half inch to one inch of total rainfall to much of the Minnesota Arrowhead and areas along Lake Superior, including Duluth, Grand Marais, and Silver Bay. Rain chances will remain steady between 60% and 85% during the first half of the week before tapering off Wednesday night.

Meteorologists emphasize that no thunderstorms are expected, and rainfall should stay light to moderate. Communities farther west — such as Walker, Aitkin, and Brainerd — will likely see less than a quarter inch of rain.

The system will maintain cloudy skies and cooler daytime highs in the 50s, typical for mid-October across the Northland. Drier conditions are expected to return by Thursday.
