Duluth, MN – After a frosty start to Wednesday, northern Minnesota residents can expect another cool night before temperatures begin to climb heading into the weekend. The National Weather Service in Duluth reported highs today in the upper 50s to low 60s, with overnight lows dipping into the 30s for most areas.
According to the National Weather Service, the region will see sunny skies through Wednesday with temperatures gradually warming each day. Areas like Grand Rapids and Hinckley are forecast to reach the low 60s, while International Falls and Grand Marais will remain in the upper 50s.
Overnight lows tonight are expected to hover in the mid-30s to low 40s, keeping the potential for light frost in some inland valleys. A slight chance of rain returns Thursday night, with a stronger system expected to bring a 40–70% chance of rain between Sunday and Monday.
Temperatures are forecast to rise slightly over the weekend, with highs returning to the mid-60s across much of the Northland before cooler, wetter conditions begin early next week.
This forecast follows a brief cold snap that brought freezing temperatures to parts of the region earlier Wednesday morning.
