Duluth, Minnesota – A stretch of fluctuating temperatures will continue across northeastern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin into next week, with multiple chances for snow along the way.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Duluth, temperatures will cool slightly for the weekend before warming again Monday and Tuesday. Cooler air is then expected to return by mid to late next week.

Light to moderate snow is forecast primarily from this evening through Saturday. The National Weather Service noted that the highest snow amounts are expected along the South Shore, where breezy conditions may also accompany snowfall. Elsewhere in the region, snowfall amounts should remain lighter.

Additional snow chances return Tuesday and Thursday. Forecasters said precipitation on Tuesday may fall as a wintry mix at times, depending on surface temperatures, before transitioning back to snow later in the week.

Forecast graphics indicate high temperatures climbing into the low to mid-30s early next week before falling back into the teens and 20s by midweek. Overnight lows are expected to drop into the single digits and teens as colder air settles back into the region.

The National Weather Service emphasized that while no major winter storm is currently expected, the changing temperature pattern could lead to periods of slick travel, especially when snow or mixed precipitation overlaps with warming or cooling trends.

Residents are encouraged to stay alert for forecast updates as timing and precipitation types may change over the coming days.

For commuters, students, and workers across the Northland, fluctuating temperatures and periodic snow could affect travel conditions at various points through next week.
