Duluth, MN — Cloudy and unsettled conditions continue across the Northland today, with the National Weather Service warning that snow will primarily affect northwest Wisconsin. Lake-effect snow bands may become locally heavy at times, creating rapidly changing travel conditions—especially along and near US Highway 2.
High temperatures today will remain cold, reaching only 21 to 28 degrees, while tonight’s lows are expected to fall sharply into the 8 to 18 degree range. Gusty winds and persistent cloud cover will add to the winter chill.
Forecasters caution that snow showers could intensify under lake-effect banding, leading to quick reductions in visibility, snow-covered roadways, and slippery travel. Motorists are advised to check current road conditions before heading out and to be prepared for fast-changing weather, particularly in northwest Wisconsin counties.
Looking ahead, temperatures remain cold on Sunday, with highs in the mid- to upper 20s and overnight lows dipping into the single digits and teens. Sunday will bring a mix of sun and clouds with fewer snow chances.
Monday and Tuesday will be slightly warmer but remain below normal for late November. Some light snow or flurries may return Monday before another chance of precipitation Tuesday. Highs early next week will range from the upper teens to lower 20s, with lows in the single digits to lower teens.
By Wednesday, temperatures climb a bit into the lower 20s, though chilly conditions persist.
Residents should remain alert to changing conditions today and tonight, especially in areas prone to lake-effect snow. Travel may be impacted at times, and drivers should use caution and allow extra time.
