Naperville, Ill. — The Naperville Police Department and DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office released information yesterday on a street racing crash in April that sent two passengers to the hospital.

On April 26, 2025, Naperville Police responded to a vehicle crash that occurred in front of the Courtyard Marriott on Diehl Road. Allegedly, a black 2006 Mercedes operated by Jadon Ramirez, 18, pulled up next to Sahil Chauhan, 23, in a blue 2024 Acura. Ramirez pointed to Chauhan and gestured that he wanted to race. The two raced, stopped at the intersection light at Washington Street and Diehl Road, then raced again. As they raced, Ramirez allegedly lost control of the Mercedes and crashed into a tree. Ramirez was said to have been traveling 101 miles per hour in a 40-mph-zone during the second race.

Two passengers in Ramirez’s vehicle sustained injuries that sent them to the hospital. One victim, a seventeen-year-old male, was found unconscious at the scene. He suffered internal brain bleeding, a punctured lung, broken ribs and a broken vertebrae and scapula. The second victim was an eighteen-year-old male who had a broken arm.

Ramirez and Chauhan were each charged with one count of Aggravated Street Racing (Class 4 Felony) and one count of Aggravated Reckless Driving Causing Great Bodily Harm (Class Four Felony). Ramirez’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 18. Chauhan is scheduled for his next court appearance on July 28.
