Correctional officers found the 31-year-old unresponsive in his holding cell at approximately 12:48 a.m. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, including Narcan and Epinephrine administration, he was pronounced dead after being transported to Carle Hospital.

According to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, the man was taken into custody by Peoria PD on Monday around 7:15 p.m. following an incident at a downtown restaurant. He faced multiple charges, including battery, assault, criminal damage to property, and criminal trespass to property.
