Manteno, IL – The Manteno Police Department is collecting donations for Georgie’s Closet, a charity supporting foster families in Kankakee County. Residents can donate new or gently used items until December 1 to assist children in foster care.
According to the Manteno Police, needed items include clothing for infants to teens, coats, snow gear, and boots. Baby gear such as cribs, bassinets, car seats, and highchairs are also requested. Donations should be in clean, good condition. Georgie’s Closet aims to provide duffel bags filled with essentials for children during foster care transitions.
Georgie’s Closet also accepts donations directly through an Amazon wish list, offering another way to support their mission. The organization strives to help foster children feel valued and supported.
Donations can be dropped off at the Manteno Police Department. The collection drive concludes December 1, giving the community a limited time to participate.
