Emmet, WI – A two-vehicle crash shut down part of State Highway 26 Tuesday afternoon after two Freightliner trucks collided, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the scene at approximately 1:21 p.m. on November 11, 2025, near Second Street Road in the town of Emmet. Investigators say a 1992 Freightliner, driven by Grant Nass, 32, of Waukesha, was southbound on Highway 26 when it was rear-ended by a 2020 Freightliner Semi operated by David Wille, 62, of rural Watertown.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the older Freightliner was hauling corn at the time of the crash. The roadway had to be closed for several hours while the Dodge County Highway Department and other crews cleaned up spilled corn and debris.
Authorities said Nass was uninjured, while Wille sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by Watertown EMS to Aurora Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc.
Responding agencies included the Watertown Fire Department and EMS, Dodge County Highway Shop, and Dodge County Emergency Response Team.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
