According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the scene around 5:33 a.m. Monday after reports of a serious-injury crash involving a passenger vehicle and a pickup truck with a trailer. State Highway 16/60 was shut down for several hours during the emergency response and investigation but has since reopened to normal traffic.
Investigators say a 2022 Subaru Outback, traveling eastbound on Highway 16/60, crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2019 Ford F-550 pickup truck. The truck was pulling a tandem-axle trailer loaded with a mini excavator at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Subaru was identified as a 20-year-old man from Watertown. He sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by helicopter to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee for treatment.
The driver of the Ford pickup, a 26-year-old man from Fond du Lac, suffered minor injuries. He was transported to Marshfield Medical Center–Beaver Dam for evaluation.
