Juneau, Wisconsin – Authorities are searching for a Dodge County inmate who failed to return from an approved court appointment, prompting a countywide alert.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Luis Perez-Cerna, born Feb. 1, 1999, allegedly did not return to the Dodge County Jail after being granted Huber privileges, which allow certain inmates to leave custody for work or medical appointments.

Sheriff’s officials said Perez-Cerna had an approved court appearance in Dane County on Jan. 17 at 7:30 a.m. The Dane County Clerk of Courts reported that he never appeared for the scheduled hearing.

The last confirmed sighting of Perez-Cerna was in the parking lot of the Dodge County Jail in Juneau, where he was allegedly seen walking east across the lot.

Authorities described him as last seen wearing a gray Adidas T-shirt, black jeans and black shoes. Deputies said they do not have a confirmed permanent address for Perez-Cerna but noted he has previous ties to Cambria and West Bend in addition to locations within Dodge County.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the non-emergency dispatch line at 920-386-3726. Tips may also be submitted through the department’s website or mobile app.

Officials have not released additional details about the underlying charges.

The search may be of particular concern to local residents and students who commute through Juneau and surrounding communities.
