Dodge County, WI – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that a Lomira man was arrested following an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation that began with a national tip.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, deputies initiated the investigation after receiving a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip led investigators to Derek J. Weinfurtner, 45, of Lomira.

Following the inquiry, Weinfurtner was booked into the Dodge County Jail. Authorities say a charge of possession of child pornography, a Class D felony, has been referred to the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office for review.

“As in all cases, all persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” the department noted in its release.

Officials also reminded residents that arrest information can be found under the “Arrest” tab of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office mobile app.

Questions regarding the case may be directed to Sheriff Dale J. Schmidt.
